Our client, second largest writer of U.S. commercial property casualty insurance and the third largest writer of U.S. personal insurance through independent agents, is currently seeking an Accounts Payable/Invoicing Accountant for a 6+ month contract position .-- The position is located in Hartford, CT. ---- In addition to working with the world's most recognized and trusted name in staffing, Kelly employees can expect: - ---------- Competitive pay - ---------- Paid holidays - ---------- Year-end bonus program - ---------- Recognition and incentive programs - ---------- Access to continuing education via the Kelly Learning Center ---- Pay rate: --$24.50/hour -- Job Description: -- Vendor Processing: Updates central invoice and renewal database, ensuring that all information required to process and track invoices and quotes is accurate. Conducts invoice and quote validation by verifying goods/services to contracts and contacting requester to ensure goods/services were received or requested. Prepares Accounts Payable payment requests with accounting/billing information for invoice payment processing. Submits purchase requisitions for purchase order processing. Vendor Liaison: Play a critical role in understanding contractual obligations with vendors and ensuring all vendor reporting requirements are met. Assist in the timely resolution of vendor issues. Reporting: Produces and analyzes management weekly and monthly reports covering invoicing and renewal metrics, aging and status. Creates and distributes monthly invoice processing detail. Assists in preparation of monthly supplier activity and contract reporting. Prepares ad-hoc reporting as needed. Financial Management: Prepares reports and analysis on a timely basis to support reporting/accounting requirements. Act as liaison with field and/or other departments to resolve problems. Recommend opportunities to enhance processes and operational standards. Qualifications: B.S. in Accounting or Finance 2-3 years knowledge of accounting, financial analysis, and reporting. Experience in invoice processing or accounts payable Highly proficient on Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of Excel Experience/understanding of PeopleSoft AP/GL/AM modules and query functions is preferable, but not required. The candidate will also validate invoice charges to contracts so experience in understanding contracts is helpful. The candidate will be required to code Payment Request with correct accounting so the accounting understanding and experience is necessary for invoice processing. Why Kelly -- ?
