Employees will have the flexibility to choose their hours within our normal business hours of 6:00am to 4:30pm CST (ex: 7- 5:30pm EST). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer 2-4 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform research on various computer systems and document customer information regarding current status, payment expectations, notes of conversations and other relevant information
  • Use mail, email and phones to contact customers to discuss, negotiate payment and resolve outstanding medical bill accounts and balances
  • Obtain agreement on potential balance payoff and/or payment terms within stated level of authority and guideline limits
  • Prepare and submits reports to internal management on status of outstanding medical bills and proposed/planned payment settlement detailsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • 2+ years of experience with medical billing/collections or healthcare insurance
    • 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
    • Computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Windows and navigation, mouse and keyboarding skills
    • Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel (data entry, sorting/filtering)
    • Intermediate level of Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents)Preferred Qualifications:
      • Knowledge of full version Adobe (creating and editing documents)
      • Medical claims experience
      • EST, MST or CST time zoneTelecommuting Requirements:
        • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
        • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $15.77 - $27.79.
