Extract precise information from documentation, test results, and reports to audit and ensure appropriate codes were assigned. Audit and test ongoing operational processes to assure continued compliance with all requirements regarding coding procedures, practices and internal processing guidelines.This position is full - time. Employees are required to work any shift hours that start between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and end between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM CST (Central Standard Time zone) including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need. -Training will be conducted virtually from your home.*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform a detailed review of medical records to ensure the ICD - 10 - CM code(s) was coded correctly during the coding and / or auditing process.
  • Processes attestation sheets and progress notes out of the proprietary software work queues according to department guidelines
  • Performs the minimum number of validations consistent with established departmental goal
  • Ensures accuracy of entry by comparing to outcome of diagnoses on Attestation post validation entry
  • Identifies and reports quality concerns and errors to management for review and education

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher) OR equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of Coding Certification (CPC OR CCS OR RHIT OR RHIA)
    • 3+ years of ICD - 10 Coding experience
    • Knowledge in HCC Coding guidelines
    • Technical expertise in ICD - 10 - CM
    • Intermediate (or higher) experience with using Microsoft Office: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
    • Ability to work any shift hours that start between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and end between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM CST (Central Standard Time zone) including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business needPreferred Qualifications:
      • Associate's Degree (or higher)Telecommuting Requirements:

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada / New York City residents is $23.94 - $42.40.
