Classification: Non-ExemptJob Purpose: This role is responsible for
core financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, deposits and maintenance of files.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Prepare monthly and quarterly invoices to
funders. Prepare grant reports to funders. Assist with month-end
and year-end closing of the books including preparation entries,
schedules and reconciliation of ledgers. Prepare fixed assets and
depreciation schedule and related journal entries, ensuring that
fixed assets are properly classified. Perform various general
accounting functions such as journal entries, account
reconciliations and special reports. Enter cash receipts/ bank
deposit. Assist with the preparation of audit work papers and
provide accounting records as required. Act as back-up for Accounts
Payable processing. Maintain accounting/banking information for the
Youth IDA bank accounts. Perform on-going management of
organizational credit card tracking and assure receipt of all
required documentation for posting. Maintaining the salary
allocation information. Perform other duties as
assigned.Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
or university with a major in Accounting is preferred. Significant
experience in bookkeeping and an Associate's Degree will be
considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree. Experience working in a
financial office preferred, but internship experience and recent
graduates are encouraged to apply. Ability to communicate
effectively in both oral and written form. Thorough knowledge of
accounting theory, concepts and practices applicable to accounting
requirements of funding sources. Strong mathematical and analytical
skills for monitoring accounting records and resolving accounting
problems. Ability to effectively communicate accounting
information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily
understood by customers. Computer literate with experience in
Microsoft Office. Experience with Financial Edge accounting
software is preferred. Good organizational and time-management
skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Teamwork
skills. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of Federal, state and local grant funding, reporting and
audit requirements preferred. Experience with grants accounting and
restricted revenue management is preferred.
