Job Description:
General Description The Senior Tax Accountant will be involved
in the tax compliance and reporting matters for the Company
including the Federal, State and Foreign tax compliance, quarterly
and annual ACS 740/ FAS 109 and Fin 48 documentation and
calculations and responding to Federal. State & Local and Foreign
tax inquires. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Prepare
quarterly and annual ACS 740 US GAAP tax provisions including
preparation of supporting documentation for external auditors to
support Federal, State and Foreign income tax provision
calculations and related current and deferred tax account analyses;
assist in preparation of quarterly and annual tax disclosures for
SEC reporting Prepare income tax filings including U.S. Federal
Forms 1120, 1120F; State and Local income and Franchise tax returns
including quarterly estimates and preparation of tax return work
papers, preparation of State and Local sales, property and payroll
apportionment factors to support state & local tax filings and
preparation of tax returns in non-U.S. jurisdictions including
Ireland, Singapore and U.K. Solely responsible for VAT filings in
Ireland, France, and other countries as needed (bi-monthly).
Preparation of Sales & Use Tax returns (quarterly). Reconcile tax
basis fixed assets and depreciation (quarterly). Respond to
management requests for net tax values of aircraft. Preparation of
W-8Ben requests from Treasury. Manage, monitor and maintain log of
notices from and responses to taxing authorities. Completion of
registration forms for newly established entities, (US and
International). Work with Accounting & Finance departments to
ensure access to accounting data to support of both domestic and
international tax reporting requirements Develop and maintain
relationships with members of other business units to understand
their business activities; ensure access to data and improve the
tax processes Assist with special projects to ensure the Companies’
operations are managed to minimize worldwide taxes Assist with
federal, state, local and foreign tax audits Assist other Tax Team
members with issues that arise in the day-to-day operations
Position Requirements Formal Education and Certification A
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Advanced tax degree and/or CPA a
plus. Knowledge and Experience Approximately 3 - 5 years of Public
and Corporate Accounting Tax Experience (“Big Four” experience a
plus) Solid understanding of accounting rules and procedures,
including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of ACS 740 Competencies An independent, proactive,
organized self-starter who doesn’t require close supervision and
can prioritize tasks. Must be hands on Ability to work under tight
deadlines, multitask, make decisions, and meet goals and deadlines
Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills (i.e.,
comprehension, verbal and written) Strong tax research skills
Ability to work overtime when required Strong Microsoft Office
skills (i.e., advanced Excel and Word shills) Superior
interpersonal skills Experience with tax and financial accounting
software Travel This position requires minimal to no travel.
