As a subject matter expert, you'll also be the "go - to" resource for information. The flexibility to work evening hours will also be required.This position is full - time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time zone)We offer 3 -4 weeks of training. The hours during training will be 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time zone). Training will be conducted virtually from your home.All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other team members
  • Manage the intake of members or the admission / discharge information post notification
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services
  • Manage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification, and census roles
  • Resolve inquiries from members and / or providers You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • 2+ years of experience with analyzing and solving customer problems
    • 2+ years of experience with working in the health care industry
    • 2+ years of experience in working with medical terminology
    • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time zone) from Monday - Friday Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience in working with health care insurance
      • Experience in a hospital, physician's office, OR medical clinic setting
      • A clerical OR administrative support background OR experience working in a call center environment
      • Experience in working with Medicare and / or Medicaid Services Telecommuting Requirements:
        • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
        • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

SM Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $18.17 - $32.26. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada / New York City residents is $20.00 - $35.53.
