About the Collaborative Center for JusticeMission: Rooted in the Gospel and committed to Catholic Social Teaching, the Collaborative Center for Justice advocates for systemic change and educates individuals about social justice in order to make a difference in the lives of people who are poor and alienated.The Collaborative Center is a Catholic social justice organization based in Hartford, Connecticut. We are a small staff of two full-time employees and one part-time administrative assistant. We are primarily sponsored by six congregations of Catholic nuns. As a faith-based organization, we advocate for systemic change and educate individuals about social justice in order to act with a prophetic voice for and with marginalized persons to challenge injustice and move the moral compass of our society toward peace and justice.Applicants do not need to be Catholic or Christian to apply, but as an important role in our staff, they must be enthusiastic about our mission.Compensation and Schedule $18/ hour, no benefits. Monday - Thursday from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Candidates must be able to attend meetings of our board of trustees which take place from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. approximately six times each year. Employees are given the schedule well in advance to plan accordingly. Job Description and Required Skills

  • This role will be executed almost entirely by computer. The incumbent will be expected to be a competent user of the Microsoft Office Suite, most importantly the following: Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, and Zoom
  • Other programs: MailChimp and WordPress
  • Candidates will be required to maintain the Collaborative Center's database of contacts in Microsoft Access, to execute mail merges and complete mass mailings to legislators and our constituents, to take accurate minutes at meetings, to maintain records of donations and send timely acknowledgements, answer phone and greet visitors in a friendly manner, maintain inventory of office supplies and reorder when necessary, and other administrative duties as necessary.[Additional Qualifications:]
    • Previous administrative or office management experience
    • Willingness to learn new programs when necessary
    • Collaborative style of workingCOVID-19 Requirements and Considerations
      • Potential incumbents will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination before employment is ratified. No medical information will be required.
      • Future COVID-19 boosters and proof thereof, if they become available and are recommended by the CDC, will be required by all staff.
