Job Description:
Waste Connections seeks a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee
all maintenance activities within our operations, ensuring that all
plant equipment and machinery related to waste management,
including recycling and disposal, operates reliably and
efficiently. This role is crucial for maintaining the effectiveness
of our day-to-day operations and contributing to the overall
success and sustainability of Waste Connections. The ideal
candidate will bring a strong commitment to safety, a thorough
understanding of maintenance strategy, and a proactive approach to
troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Develop and implement
maintenance strategies and procedures in line with company policies
and compliance regulations. Manage and oversee all aspects of the
maintenance department, including scheduling repairs, preventive
maintenance, and staffing. Collaborate with other managers to
optimize processes and integrate maintenance needs with operational
strategies. Prepare budgets and forecasts for maintenance
operations, ensuring cost effectiveness and resource optimization.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and
regulations. Direct training and staff development activities for
new hires and existing staff in the maintenance department.
Supervise and evaluate the performance of maintenance personnel and
contractors. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work done,
machine downtimes, and overall system efficiency for reporting and
analysis. Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems related to
waste management facilities. Strong leadership skills and team
management. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in maintenance management systems and predictive
maintenance technologies. Capability to manage budgets and
understand financial statements. Strong problem-solving skills and
the ability to make decisions under pressure. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified
Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) is preferred. OSHA
Safety certifications.
