of Engineering to oversee 2 hotel properties. The main location is
a 65-room waterfront retreat, offering a relaxed yet refined
seaside escape where connection, hospitality, and immersive
experiences come naturally. Along with a 35 room hotel on Greenport
Harbor. The properties blend elevated service with effortless
charm, creating memorable stays rooted in simple pleasures,
sunsets, great food, and shared moments. JOB DESCRIPTION: The
Director of Engineering serves as the onsite leader responsible for
the overall condition and maintenance of the building, equipment,
grounds, and hotel infrastructure. This role supervises and
provides leadership to the Maintenance and Landscaping teams while
performing hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and
oversight of all operational systems. The Director of Engineering
is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized maintenance
facility and ensuring the security of hotel inventory and assets,
including tools, supplies, furniture, fixtures, and equipment. The
position plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence
and contributing to the overall success of the property. In
addition, this role oversees the upkeep, care, and maintenance of
company vehicles. Due to the dynamic nature of hotel operations,
additional duties may be assigned as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Directly manage Maintenance and Landscaping teams, including
hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management
Foster a productive, positive team environment Oversee purchasing,
supply inventory, maintenance request systems, reporting, and
documentation Research and negotiate with vendors to secure
competitive pricing and availability Maintain safe and sanitary
property conditions Prepare and manage the annual departmental
budget in collaboration with senior leadership Monitor departmental
expenditures to ensure adherence to budget and operational
standards Complete payroll and timekeeping logs Ensure staff
compliance with SOPs and safety standards Prioritize daily work
orders and interface with senior leadership as needed Oversee
preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure
system reliability Conduct regular property-wide inspections Review
capital expenditure requests prior to approval Monitor guest
feedback and service quality standards Track utility usage and
operational efficiency Oversee maintenance of company vehicles
Manage relationships with outside contractors and agencies for
major projects Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
regarding hazardous materials Conduct regular departmental and
safety meetings Promote and comply with company policies and
procedures Report suspicious activity or hazardous conditions
immediately REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the General
Manager. WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Strong knowledge
of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and mechanical
equipment Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience
in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent
combination of education and experience Professional certification
or licensing as required by law Prior experience in hospitality,
extended stay, or multi-unit residential maintenance preferred
Strong organizational and prioritization skills Ability to read,
write, and communicate fluently in English (additional languages a
plus) Ability to document tasks, interpret manuals, and order
supplies Working knowledge of budgeting and basic financial
concepts Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent experience required. SECURITY &
CONFIDENTIALITY: Maintain heightened awareness of safety and
security protocols. Ensure proper adherence to policies regarding
property, inventory, keys, locks, and confidential information.
