public community? Location : Hawthorne Valley Association (HVA) is
seeking a full-time Campus Services Maintenance Technician to join
our Campus Services team at our Ghent, NY campus. Pay : $22 - $25
per hour. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and
internal equity considerations. The Role At Hawthorne Valley, we

maintaining an environment that supports the daily life of our
School, Farm, Store, and broader community. The Campus Services
Maintenance Technician works collaboratively to support both
reactive and preventive maintenance of campus buildings, grounds,
vehicles, and equipment in an active school and public setting.
This role requires comfort working around children, coworkers, and
members of the public on a daily basis, as well as a positive,
respectful presence that reflects Hawthorne Valley’s values.

of our public commitment to being a Net Positive Campus. Schedule
Full-time: Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday. Training will
be held the first few weeks Monday–Friday, per a schedule made with
your manager. Once you are fully trained you will adjust to your
formal schedule. On Call Requirements: Occasional evenings or
weekends may be required to support events or emergencies Key
Responsibilities Manage maintenance workshop equipment and
inventory, ensuring availability of supplies and mission-aligned
purchasing Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of
maintenance, repairs, inventory, and equipment service history
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in a
timely manner Perform routine maintenance of equipment and building
systems Operate transport and grounds maintenance vehicles, hand
tools, and power tools safely and in compliance with HVA policies
Perform regular preventive maintenance on campus vehicles and
equipment Serve as an occasional first responder for after-hours or
weekend maintenance emergencies (based on team schedules) Support
seasonal or cross-functional duties as assigned Qualifications
Experience across multiple relevant areas such as mechanics,
plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work Experience using a
forklift is preferred, if not, we will train you! Proven experience
in equipment maintenance and repair Basic computer skills for work
order tracking and inventory management Strong problem-solving
skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills and
the ability to work courteously and professionally with colleagues,
supervisors, and visitors Commitment to safety and sustainable
operations Ability to perform physically demanding work, including
lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather
conditions Ability to operate medium subcompact tractors and
equipment (e.g., tractors, snow blowers, lawn mowers, chain saws)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Willingness and
ability to learn and adapt as job requirements evolve Physical
Requirements This position involves physical labor, including
lifting, bending, operating equipment, and working in a variety of
