Job Description:
IT Quality Assurance Lead (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. -
Boston, Massachusetts): Responsible for the full quality assurance
and testing phase for our large initiative projects for
applications that support BCGs Managing Directors & Partners
(MDPs). Specific duties include: coordinate and oversee all quality
assurance processes and tasks; oversee a group of offshore, vendor
quality assurance testers on delivery of test scripts, testing
approach, meeting deadlines, and reporting bugs in coordination
with the Partner Services business analysts and development team;
support projects that will primarily be large implementations to
modernize, large scale change to our existing systems, or complete
replacement of our current applications; work within Agile
methodology to manage quality assurance for our human resource
information systems and finance applications; lead an offshore QA
team in the execution of test plans and manage all activities to
ensure all testing objectives are met; monitor program performance
to ensure efficient and problem-free operations; lead the QA team
to write end to end test plans and communicating to the development
team, BA team, third party vendors, and stakeholders; communicate
the overall testing phase of the project health to the BA,
development, and business teams; and work with cross-functional
stakeholders from our Partner Services Group and various IT staff
from our IT Business Systems and Product Engineering teams to
ensure full quality assurance for the information systems and
applications that support MDPs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology
Management, Information Systems or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in
a quality assurance lead role. Specific skills/other requirements -
Must also possess the following (quantitative experience
requirements not applicable to this section): Test planning and
estimation, test strategies, test execution, reporting, test data
management and defect management, requirements traceability,
building test scenarios and test cases during various phases of
testing such as functional, regression, performance, stress, load,
security, end-to-end and user acceptance testing; Agile Scrum
methodologies and applying methodologies in Agile ceremony meetings
including SCRUM meetings, backlog refinement, and sizing meetings;
Sizing of user stories using story points and the Fibonacci
sequence; Responding to immediate production issues, investigating
fixes necessary from developers and business to create test cases
to test the changes made for immediate deployment in production;
Attending formal review meetings with project teams and developers
and stakeholders to report, demonstrate, prioritize and suggest
resolution of complex issues discovered during testing; Managing
several small and large QA testing teams and testing of large-scale
initiative projects, including new implementations or large-scale
replacement of applications; Conducting technical interviews,
hiring talent and procurement process; Mentoring, training,
coaching and performance evaluation and feedback process; hands-on
experience in SQL queries to validate data within databases; and
supporting human resource or financial applications in a quality
assurance role. Domestic/international travel required up to 10%
depending on client/company need. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 45+
