Engineer, technical leadership track role is an opportunity to contribute and lead development of real-time, model-based solutions for advanced control system and state estimation functions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert in model predictive control, propulsion system modeling and estimation
  • Development of onboard real-time engine models for state estimation and advanced propulsion system control algorithms. -
  • Developing solutions for CE and ME EMD and demonstration programs. -
  • Integration with customers including engine operability and engine performance teams, control laws, control system safety, requirements & certification team, verification team, DPHM. -
  • Perform -analysis to derive sensor, algorithmic and computational requirements for modeling, estimation, and FDA solutions.
  • Developing model-based functional requirements consistent with MBSE best practices. -
  • Design, implementation, and validation of control system estimation, FDA, and control law solutions from concept through engine test and entry into service. -
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action for model-based synthesis/estimation integration, test, and field issues. -
  • Rapid development of software solutions to emerging hardware issues. -
  • Control system trade studies for improving key propulsion system metrics. -
  • Travel up to 10%.Basic Qualifications:
    • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
    • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or Chemical Engineering. -
    • English fluency (verbal and written)
    • US Citizenship required due to government contracts. -Preferred Qualifications:
      • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
      • Experience with NPSS or similar performance modeling tool.
      • Gas turbine performance and operability analysis experience.
      • Gas turbine engine modeling experience with depth in turbo-machinery performance and engine operability theory. -
      • Linear algebra theory and associated numerical methods. -
      • Linear control systems theory. -
      • Numerical and analytic linearization methods. -
