This role involves working directly with students and staff in a school setting, ensuring effective communication and inclusion for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The position is based in Waterbury, CT, and includes travel to multiple school locations, offering variety and exposure to different learning communities. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote an inclusive learning environment. Adapt communication methods to meet the individual needs of students. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification or equivalent experience preferred. Experience working in educational settings is highly valued. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities. Willingness to travel between school sites as required.
