What Will You Do?
The Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for all of the
technical aspects of our sales cycle specifically pertaining to our
client's needs with focus towards DPC's Cabinet and Containment
division and Legrand product integrations. The Field Sales Engineer
must be both technically skilled and sales proficient with a strong
understanding and alignment with the sales objectives as well as
DPC's engineering capabilities in order to deliver an effective
solution to the customer's needs. The Field Sales Engineer will
represent the entire range of company products and services. This
position will provide support to DPC's RVPs and Territory Sales
Managers in the US and Canada, along with various agency and sales
contacts within our division.
The main responsibility of this role is to participate in sales
activities for Power Access and Control which include, but not
limited to the following:
Assist DPC's filed sales team with onsite support in achieving
financial objectives, retaining existing customer base, winning new
customers and driving innovation.
Establish close working relationships with end user customers as
their key ally and assisting them with solving persistent problems
with practical solutions and industry leading support
Consult directly with customers to explain the technical and
practical aspects of DPC's products and capabilities
Identifying feature requirements, architect practical and workable
solutions, uncover hidden opportunities.
Participates in managing and developing customer and partner
relationships for long-term growth, new business discovery and
long-term success
Directly assist in the project management of proof of concept and
product evaluations
Perform technical presentations and deliver training to customers
and partners
Perform detailed system design of DPC's line of rack racks,
cabinets, containment and related technologies.
Functionally describe Legrand DPC brands and solutions to both
technical and non-technical audiences
Provide pre-sales technical support on product queries from new and
existing customers/partners
Articulate product & solution capabilities and interoperability
with customer's existing infrastructure in line with customer
organizations strategic goals
Participate in RFP proposals and formulates response to RFPs
Enhances customer relationships by demonstrating a strong
understanding of the customer's business and long-term
objectives
Assist in identifying new market opportunities and trends for PDUs,
cabinets, containment and related Legrand products and services for
the datacenter environment
Qualifications
Profile:
Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years sales support experience in data
center industry and/or manufacturing related field.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD design and modeling software
experience
Project management skills including planning, organizing, and
coordinating tasks.
Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products
(Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint), experience with Salesforce.com
preferred.
Highly effective oral and written communication skills with the
ability to provide information across multiple groups in the
company including, Production, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and
Sales.
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to work independently and in dynamic team environment
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
Strong desire to drive & support customer facing meetings, product
demonstrations and design discussions
Focused on quality & timely deliverables
A strong sense of urgency in fulfilling customer and Sales Team
requirements
Act as visionary and strategist for solution product area
Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.
