Job Description:
The Strategic Projects Senior Engineer provides analytical,
policy and tactical business support for multiple business needs
for Eversource in the New England region. Significant interactions
with other departments, ISO-NE staff and with external business
partners are necessary in order to provide for the business needs.
Position requires a creative vision to solve problems, energetic
approach to identifying next opportunity to enhance the
transmission system. This engineer will take initiative and get
things done with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate works
well in a group environment seeking input from his or her
colleagues. This position seeks a self-starting problem solver who
relishes in research and learning.The Strategic Projects Senior
Engineer is located in Hartford, CT or Westwood, MA. This role
provides analytical, policy and tactical business support for
multiple business needs for Eversource in the New England region.

Functions:
- Perform exploratory research on new topics or emerging
technologies in the field (e.g., Retired generators, Load
development, Policy changes, State RFPs, Renewable opportunities,
etc.) in support of transmission interconnection strategic
initiatives
- Develop transmission enabling agreements with business
counterparts
- Support internal process developments and improvements
- Participate in cross-functional teams
- Interface with IT to assist in product development, program
selections, and implementation
- Enhance developer user experience on external Eversource
Website via the creation of content and the solicitation of
feedback from impacted parties
- Identify needs, propose solutions, and implement changes
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant publications in
the field
- Create business partnerships throughout the organization to
create efficiencies
- Support the processing of Transmission Interconnections
- Analysis of potential business transactions (energy,
renewables, transmission service)
- Monitoring and evaluating wholesale power market conditions in
support of business decision making
- Supporting of structured power supply (including supply
procured through RFP and from own resources)
- Coordinating and developing reports in support of EVERSOURCE
risk controls and financial reporting requirementsTechnical
Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- General understanding of:
- New England wholesale power market, ISO-NE policies and
procedures including the NEPOOL Open Access Transmission Tariff
(OATT)
- Transmission rate design and cost recovery
- Generation resource operations, dispatch, and costs
- Renewable Portfolio and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
requirements in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire
- Utility regulatory processes in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire and at FERC
- Proficient at understanding and interpreting complex contracts
and agreements
- Ability to develop strong, positive relationships with external
business partners including members of regulatory bodies and
interconnection customers (generation and load)
- Ability to work effectively with various levels within the
organization
- Ability to analyze data and information, determine relevant
factors associated with each solution and calculate and process
data in an efficient and accurate manner
- Strong written and spoken communication skills including the
ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to multi-task and shift among multiple priorities
simultaneously

resources, such as Google EarthEducation:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
- Master's degree/Certificate in Project Management or
Engineering Management or equivalent desirable Experience:
- Five to eight years related experienceWorking Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as
required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as
