This position requires a self-driven technically competent individual to provide architectural guidance, technological recommendations and transition strategies that support the development and implementation of business solutions.We will rely on you for abilities to lead and motivate a talented team of technical professionals. If this sounds like you, we'd love to speak with you!Primary Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesThis role is responsible for leading teams of senior architects and/or managers focused on the creation of end-to-end technical solutions to enable users and business.Develops and communicates plans and priorities for their architecture team to meet team performance and results requirements.This person will co-lead the Architecture Center of Excellence from an application architecture perspective within Bond and Specialty Insurance to raise the maturity and practices of the architecture community within B&SI and to influence the architecture community across the enterprise as a whole.Adheres to and may contribute to the development of the roadmap for architectural recommendations.Presents analysis and recommendations to help influence management and executive leadership decisions.Provides guidance and coaching and helps with career development for senior team members.Establishes budgets, policies and practices with significant impact on area operations.Expert understanding of key business knowledge areas (e.g., product, enterprise, industry, claim process and competitors).Requires thorough understanding of functional operations and how cross-functional interdependencies may affect attainment of goals.Partners with vendors and product management areas to establish required infrastructures and frameworks.Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent required.6 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture required.3 years of experience managing others and/or technical teams.Education, Work Experience, & KnowledgeBachelor's degree in a related field preferred.9 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture preferred.5 years of experience managing others and/or technical teams.Job Specific Technical Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Knowledge:Advanced conceptual understanding of capabilities and direction of technology, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the technology required and the needs of business environments necessary to support assigned projects.Management & Team Orientation:Able to understand of staff roles and abilities and provide input regarding their development.Able to build and maintain partnerships across the organization and influence effectively.Able to put success of the team above own interest.Problem Solving & Decision Making:Advanced analytical and diagnostics skills.Able to solve highly complex problems by using accepted processes or creating new approaches to leverage technology.Able to see the big picture and is aware of broader enterprise direction.Ability to assess the long-term and short-term implications of decisions.Self-Management:Able to manage cross-functional objectives and/or priorities.Able to set appropriate levels of risk taking and gathers/synthesizes information before making decisions.Commitment to Quality Results:Advanced communication skills - able to ensure all stakeholders are informed of developments that impact their functions.
