Job Description:

The Human Resource Director is responsible for managing and administering the overall human resources function of the company. Directing and leading the workforce planning, organizational design, recruitment, compensation, benefits, safety, employee relations, performance management, succession planning and staff development practices and initiatives. They will consult with the President and Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Trustees on the strategic planning for the company and serve as a link between our leadership team and its workforce. Provide advice and counsel to management in both the strategic development and tactical implementation of policies and practices that comply with all applicable regulations consistent with our mission and values.

The Human Resources Director originates and leads the Human Resource practices and objectives to provide a mission driven, employee oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes transparency, quality, productivity, workplace standards, and goal attainment in alignment with the recruitment, engagement, ongoing development and retention of a superior workforce to deliver upon our strategy and mission.

Strategic Planning Contribute to operational strategic planning, by providing perspective on workforce planning, organizational design and operational structure; staffing and employee engagement, development and retention needs to support our strategic directions and goals.
Identify and evaluate opportunities to assess and improve human resources policies, procedures, and programs to ensure they inspire and elicit superior performance of staff to meet our current and future strategic and tactical needs.
Continuously develop, recommend, and implement modification of human resources management policies, procedures and programs to the President and Chief Executive Officer and board.
Talent and Resource Management Develop, promote and lead the workplace culture strategy to encourage engagement, ensuring effective working relationships and transparent, open communications. Drive inclusion and respect for the diversity of -staff, volunteers and members. Take prompt, appropriate action to proactively address and respond to conflicts and employee relations issues between staff members.
Support the recruitment and selection of staff with the qualifications necessary for successful performance, recommending recruitment sources and strategies, and ensure recruitment process records are maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support staff career development, and corresponding engagement and retention strategies and tactics that identify and address opportunities for training and skill building within budget limits.
Develop and or recommend human capital scorecards and or dashboards to identify trends, strengths and or gaps regarding the value and effectiveness of HR initiatives, in hiring, turnover, training, and engagement.
Manage and control expenditures against budget, particularly in the areas of recruitment, compensation, benefits and staff development. Establish proactive strategies for responding to employee issues that minimize potential expenses.
Manage administrative and operational systems for maintaining all employment and personnel records, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Ensure a healthy and safe environment in compliance with all OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: College degree or equivalent; prefer PHR or SPHR certification
At least five years progressively responsible experience in human resources management
Computer literate, including database management
Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting human resources management
Current knowledge of best practices in human resources management
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Scrupulous attention to detail and confidentiality
