Responsibility to include direct linkage to pervasive lean, process control, automation, manufacturing technologies, and connected manufacturing. The OpX vision is to be a competitive differentiator executing on an operating standard that is culturally pervasive and institutionalized at all levels of Operations, delivering efficiency and unbeatable results every day for our employees, customers and shareholders.Primary Job Responsibilities:In this role, the candidate will lead the centralized standardization and expertise in system level processing and coordinate Pratt & Whitney sites in the application of both standalone machine and integrated systems. -

  • Leadership role in the engineering and execution of standards as related to automated manufacturing systems. Responsibilities and deliverables include:
    • Automated system gap analysis to world class across the enterprise
    • Method analysis
    • System layout
    • Fixture and tooling standardization
    • Process flow maps
    • Species Matrix
    • Ergonomic Engineering
    • System bill of material
    • Controls line ups
    • Robot simulation coordination
    • Automated system PFMEA
    • Mechanical Engineering Standardization
    • Approved Component List including Manufacture and SKU
    • Work closely with Shop Operations & Facility Management to implement the standardized specification through production integration and create the manufacturing maintenance proficiency
    • Applying expertise to technical problem resolution for current and future projects.
    • Communicating at all levels within RTX and Pratt & Whitney, as well as externally, tapping technical resources, forming teams and consulting with programsMeeting all Environmental Health & Safety and Preventative Maintenance requirements associated with manufacturing development
      • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver automated manufacturing systems to ensure the optimal engineered solution to meet all production goals
      • Work directly with Module Center/Engine Center leadership enabling organizations to identify and prioritize improvement utilizing automation as we transform our industrial footprint
      • Lead responsibility to integrate within RTX Industry 4.0 team on behalf of Pratt & Whitney relative to automation strategy
      • Provide an expert level of understanding of integrated system engineering and execution to all levels of the organization
      • Communicate with business partners both local, remote, internally, and externally
      • Facilitate the capital procurement process to execute automation projects Basic Qualifications:
        • Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years experience in System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or Related Discipline
        • 10+ years of experience in automated systems, specifically in manufacturing environments
        • US Citizen due to program requirements
        • The ability to obtain a US Government Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:
          • Excellent judgment and professional maturity
          • The ability to create positive relations and craft clear communication
          • AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, and MS Office Suite.
          • Strong communication, collaboration and team building skills; ability to connect with all levels of the organization
          • Candidate should be self-starter and able to work with minimal direction
          • Extensive experience with integrated systems engineering utilizing a broad range of products manufactured by the automated system.
          • Extensive experience troubleshooting different component manufactures and applications
          • Deep market knowledge of the procurement of equipment.
          • Understanding of controls best practices
          • Understanding of safety protocol and best practices as related to automation.
          • Experience with evaluation and implementation of life cycle costOther Requirements:
