Shipman & Goodwin LLP has an exciting opportunity for an Information Governance Manager, resident in our Hartford office. The Information Governance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Information Governance Department across all offices. The Information Governance Manager will understand, support and provide backup for all facets of the Information Governance Department and will serve as the liaison with other business units and Firm attorneys and paralegals. Additionally, the Information Governance Manager will work with the Director of Information Governance and Business Intake and Information Security and Governance Committee in developing and implementing policies, and will coordinate Information Governance training to incoming legal and support staff. The Information Governance Manager will be responsible for the consistent application of the Firm's retention and destruction policy in physical and electronic media.

A Bachelor's degree in Information Governance, Information Science, or a related field, as well as seven years of Information Governance experience is required. Law firm experience preferred. IGP, CRM, CIPP, CIP and CIGO certifications are highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of Information Management/Information Governance best practices, regulations, requirements and compliance guidelines. Attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with Aderant, IRM, iManage and MS Teams is preferred.
