implement departmental procedures and maintain high quality
standards to ensure Underwriting efficiencies. This individual will
develop departmental control expenses within the budget and oversee
the assignment of underwriting authority to their reports. They
will establish controls to monitor ability to accept risks and
determine pricing. The Underwriting Manager will establish audit
and monitoring procedures to ensure adequate review of underwriting
files.Primary Responsibilities:
- Set team direction and motivate and train employees
- Provide guidance to team members and problem resolution
- Manage financial commitments while balancing persistency/client
retention
- Evaluate, Create, Implement Process Improvements
- Provide consultation and guidance to internal and external
stakeholders on Underwriting processes, methodologies, and
practices
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of
Underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Communicate with internal stakeholders (e.g., actuarial team;
product group) to prepare for case/Delegation of Authority (DOA)
review
- Balance customer, business and/or health plan needs or
requests
- Stay abreast of and communicate changes in Underwriting
policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulationsYou'll be rewarded

you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Math, Finance, Business or
related degree
- 3+ years of -experience with healthcare underwriting for any
variety of products: PPO, HMO, self-funded, ASO/fully-insured,
group or individual
- 1+ years of leadership experience
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office suite
(including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Availability to work with a hybrid schedule of in office in
Hartford and telecommute from homePreferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of leadership experience -
- Solid -analytical, problem solving and critical decision-making
skills
- Effective personal communication skills in the areas of
listening, speaking, and writing

for Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on
several factors including but not limited to education, work
experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary,
