Job Description:
Proposal ManagerOverview of PositionThe Proposal Manager is
responsible for managing and leading and writing RFP and RFI
responses, unsolicited proposals, and other RFx-related material
for multiple solution areas. This individual provides additional
proposal support and leadership as needed, and leads ad hoc
projects as assignedThe Proposal Manager will work with sales,
account management, technical, clinical, production, and management
personnel at various levels within the company. This person will
also work closely with other proposal team members. This individual
will act as a role model to proposal team members and may have the
opportunity to mentor and/or coach others. This role requires
experience with proposal management, but has no direct reports.What
will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?+ Proactively
develop knowledge of solutions and relationships with SMEs and
share knowledge across team; routinely update proposal content
library; attend training, product updates, team meetings; maintain
SME/reviewer resources for primary product areas, as well as other
team documents+ Lead and write all aspects of RFx responses,
proactive proposals, questionnaires, and other requests in multiple
solution areas; use documented processes to manage all aspects of
proposal process; manage and lead up to four proposals at a time,
including our most complex proposals+ Independently manage RFx
responses, including obtaining RFx documents and assessing the
requirements; create RFP summaries, scheduling, and host status
calls, draft executive summaries, create response drafts and manage
all draft reviews; complete forms, obtain signatures and maintain
proposal compliance and responsiveness; upload submissions to
online portal/response platform where required; prepare proposal
for delivery if hard copy when required and manage/oversee print
production, including working with FedEx or other print/mail
vendors as required+ Work with sales, account management, legal,
compliance, information security, corporate, marketing, product,
clinical, services, operations, and others for responsiveness, and
follow and complete all RFx requirements+ Follow all documented
processes and best practices throughout proposal development by
using team's RFP summary format, prepare a response schedule with
team responsibilities and deliverables; assign and track
deliverables from all response team members; route all drafts for
reviews; deliver responses in accordance with RFP, proposal team,
and Change Healthcare requirements; archive submissions and update
proposal libraries; conduct or attend debriefs and report on
results as required+ Work with other team members and contractors
to maximize efficiency, understanding the most appropriate use of
resources; guide and review work of other writers; coach other
proposal writers as assigned+ Collaborate on other proposals and
projects as assigned; create and maintain proposal templates;
identify areas for improvements; may lead internal
presentationsWhat are the requirements needed for this position?+
Bachelor's degree in English, communications or related major.
Post-graduate degree a plus+ 6-8+ years of experience in proposal
management, including proven writing and editing skills, in a
fast-paced, high-volume environment. Healthcare-related experience
preferred. Experience with and understanding of imaging solutions
highly preferred. Government proposal experience, including federal
(healthcare), state, and county a plus+ Exceptional writing and
editing skills+ Ability to work independently on multiple RFx
projects while also working as a team player; strong organizational
skills, proven attention to detail, ability to follow instructions,
requirements and processes, and proven follow-up skills; ability to
identify and handle multiple priorities simultaneously and
re-prioritize work around deadlines as needed+ Ability to adapt to
a changing environment and multiple internal platforms/systems, and
personnel changes (sales and account management/SMEs)+ Ability to
strictly follow RFP requirements and instructions, including print
production and compliance requirements+ Proven experience with a
proposal content management system (Qvidian and RFPIO)+ Proven
experience with online proposal response platforms/portals+
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
required, especially for content and stylesWhat other
skills/experience would be helpful to have?+ Association of
Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification highly
preferred+ Ability to learn new processes and subject matter
quickly+ Ability to take direction from multiple proposal managers
and prioritize work accordingly+ Experience using Adobe products;
Knowledge of SharePoint; Knowledge of Salesforce+ Ability to create
basic graphics and organization chartsWhat are the working
conditions and physical requirements of this job? General office
demands; this is a fully remote role. How much should I expect to
travel? Less than 10%. Employees in roles that require travel will
need to be able to qualify for a company credit card or be able to
use their own personal credit card for travel expenses and submit
for reimbursement.
