CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER Full Time Senior Management Hartford, CT, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1030 Our client, a manufacturing company located in Southington CT, is looking for an ambitious and self-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our team. As a COO in the company, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the overall business operations strategy to grow and transform our company for the future. You will be the right-hand person to the President, acting as a strategist, advisor and implementer to help execute strategies. Due to the nature of the business, this position is required to work on-site, however it does offer some flexibility to work outside the company.In this role you will have the ability to manage and control diverse business operations and functions. We are looking for someone who has had prior experience and success with start-up or turn-around companies. This person will need to have a strong financial background, with the ability to translate financial information and strategy into operational plans to ensure revenue growth. This position adds great value to our company, and we anticipate that this can lead to further growth when succession planning occurs. -Must Haves:The Chief Operating Officer will lead the following objectives & responsibilities:

  • Act as an adviser to the President and senior management team by designing and implementing business strategies, establishes policies and promotes culture, ensure the health and connectivity of the organization through maintaining consistency and quality communication channels across all departments.
  • Responsible for the overall success of the organization's implementation of is mission and goals
  • Lead a team of employees to support the organizational mission, encourage strong performance and professional development.
  • Manage the organization's accounting function to develop and ensure the organization's financial statements, forecasts, and budgets -
  • Manage financial statements, financial analysis, and cost analysis to evaluate business options/projects/ventures, optimize cash flow, assess operational efficiency, and develop product costing/pricing.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful banking, insurance, and other financial support outcomes. -
  • Oversee and manage the human resources areas of the company ensuring the company's meets all state and federal laws and regulations. -
  • Oversees and manages the information technology area to ensure that the company systems support the vision of the company. - -Must haves:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance or business required. Master's degree preferred.
    • Strong Financial background required. -
    • Minimum of 8 years of leadership and managerial experience. Prior manufacturing experience required.
    • Prior experience with start-ups or turn-around companies
    • Proven track record of effectively planning and assisting strategic initiatives.
    • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments with a diverse group in a dynamic environment that demands excellent investor and community relations.
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, while managing multiple priorities.This position offers a competitive salary and benefit package. -
