Position summary:Collaborates with the Total Return team members in the ongoing responsibilities of managing investment portfolios. Maintains day to day contact with team members, provides analytical support, allocates trades, handles client requests and interprets investment reports. Uses strong writing skills to add color and commentary to monthly and quarterly reports, and for Request for Proposal (RFP) support.Responsibilities:Collaborate with team members in day-to-day fixed income portfolio management including portfolio analysis and monitoring, strategy development and execution, and position swap analysis.Provide investment reports as necessary.Interpret and articulate investment strategy, portfolio positioning, and performance attribution for client reports for Total Return and Liability-driven Investment clients.Manage monthly distribution and rebalances for Liability-driven Investment Strategy clients.Support the maintenance of strong client relationships.Monitor client cash needs, including the preparation of cash flow/investment income forecasts.Work with traders and portfolio managers on investment activities including specific portfolio actions in the absence of portfolio managers; generate client specific analysis and reportsMonitor compliance; and respond to corporate actions.Monitor daily market conditions and analyze market sectors.Respond to other ad-hoc client requests.Requirements:Hybrid - Hartford CTBachelor's Degree (preferably in Finance, Mathematics or Economics).CFA designation in process or soon to be in process.General understanding of capital markets, economics and security types with strong emphasis on fixed income security analysis.2+ years minimum experience in finance, investment accounting or investment management.Keen ability to take direction, adapt, prioritize workload, and work independently if needed and use resources to enhance effectiveness and efficiencyExceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentAnalytical approach with strong quantitative and qualitative skillsAdvanced excel modeling skills, working programming knowledge in VBA /or Python, and/or Bloomberg a plusStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPointWillingness to generate and communicate ideas to investment team members.Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsPassionate interest in the capital markets.
