Financial Products Manager - Lease/PPA
SunPower is seeking a Financial Products Manager - Lease/PPA to
expand our US Residential third-party-owned business. In addition
to being accountable for the growth and profitability of our solar
third-party owned business, the Manager will obsess over the
customer experience (both dealer and homeowner) and will be
passionate about making solar easy and affordable for millions of
Americans.
Our new CEO has said that going solar should be "as simple as
buying a book on Amazon " and this represents the future of the
SunPower Lease/PPA: simple, fast, money-saving, automated.
You will be responsible for managing the SunPower Lease/PPA product
line - economics, product features, customer experience,
incentives, profitability, and dealer uptake. You will leverage
consumer insights, market needs, and competitive intel to design
third-party owned products that make residential solar easy and
economic; you'll also build go-to-market strategies to launch these
products.
As a Product Manager, you will work closely with a variety of
business functions ranging from Sales, Marketing, Finance,
Operations and Product Teams, and coordinate execution across these
functional groups. The Financial Product Manager role is among the
most challenging and rewarding. We are looking for a highly
talented and driven individual who is excited to take on this
challenge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other
duties may be assigned)
Help own our Lease and PPA products End to End - you'll be
accountable for its growth and success.
Own and project manage the appraisal process for our Tax-Equity
funds, including all communications with the 3rd party appraiser,
compile cost and market data, and model financial outcomes based on
changes in assumptions.
Lead market expansion of lease products into new states, including
pricing, contracting, and product offering workstreams.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop, launch, and evaluate
product and pricing strategies with a specific focus on the New
Homes channel.
Evaluate the profitability of SunPower's residential financial
products and support business forecasting.
Liaise with the project finance team to ensure financing needs for
TPO business are met; maintain/optimize financial models used to
determine TPO economics.
Define and communicate requirements for software solutions used to
convey customer financial offers, as well as support ongoing
software-related financial product needs.
Analyze policy and incentive changes in relevant markets to ensure
strategic business response and product compliance.
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Educational: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering,
or other quantitative discipline required. A Master's degree is a
plus.
4+ years of experience at a consumer finance or consumer renewable
energy company.
Strong work ethic and ability to deliver high-quality results in a
fast-paced work environment.
Detail-oriented and organized with superior analytical
abilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal
skills.
Ability to think creatively to solve complex business and financial
problems.
In-depth understanding of finance/valuation concepts and financial
statements.
Extensive financial modeling experience.
Superior knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION
The position is in Austin, TX; Richmond, CA; or Remote.
10% of travel required.
