within the organization.Job SummaryOur Nurses work in collaborative
environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a
patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under
the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the
registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance
with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the
hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse
who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to
develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet
the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs
of the patient and family.This Nurse Manager will be functioning
within the framework for professional nursing practice, the Patient
Nurse Manager supports and assists the Director. This position has
24 hour accountability for managing resources (human, material and
financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of patient
services for the vascular, thoracic, trauma and specific surgical
patient populations, in a defined area across the continuum. This
is accomplished by direct action, delegation, coaching and support
of unit-based shared governance councils.Center 10 is a 26-bed
inpatient Telemetry Unit which is part of the Hartford HealthCare
Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital. Nurses on Center
10 care primarily for patients diagnosed with Arrhythmia disorders
and Congestive Heart Failure. Other patients cared for on Center 10
include patients who are pre- operative open-Heart Surgery; and
other Cardiac patients requiring monitoring. The pace is
professionally challenging and stimulating and a wonderful learning
environment.Qualifications* Current Connecticut Registered Nurse
license required.* Bachelor's degree required. * Master's degree
preferred. One degree must be in Nursing.* Certification in nursing
administration is required within 5 years of assuming position.*
Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience.* CPR certification
preferred.* Demonstrated progressive leadership skills.* Strong
written and verbal communications skills required.*Exceptions to
the educational requirement will be evaluated on an individual
basis. For example, a strong candidate in the process of completing
the educational requirement will be considered. Continued progress
toward completion of the educational requirement within five years
