Chief, Pediatric Urology Opportunity - Top 40 Program Connecticut Children's Medical Center Details Posted: 27-Jul-21 Location: Hartford , Connecticut Type: Full Time Required Education: MD/DO Internal Number: CCMC-Uro On behalf of Dr. Christine Finck, Surgeon-in-Chief / Peter Deckers Endowed Chair of Surgery CareerPhysician, LLC, a leader in academic pediatric leadership recruitment, has initiated a national search to identify a transformational leader to name Chief of Pediatric Urology at Connecticut Children's Hospital and UCONN School of Medicine to lead their U.S News top-ranked division into the future. The Chief will have the responsibility to advance the regional and national reputation of the Urology program and embrace a vision that encompasses the mission and values of Connecticut Children's, -dedicated to improving the physical and emotional health of children through family-centered care, research, education, and advocacy. Opportunity Highlights:

  • Connecticut Children's is the state's only stand-alone children's hospital. The Division of Urology is home to four faculty, including 2 outstanding physician faculty, 2 urology trained APPs, and 3 RNs with a combined 20 years of urology experience and a research assistant dedicated to serving children throughout Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, and Eastern New York - approximately 1,000,000 child lives.
  • The new Chief will align and report directly to the Surgeon-in-Chief at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and the President of Connecticut Children's Specialty Group (CCSG), joining an institution with strategic and fiscal commitment to the clinical, academic, and educational enhancement of the Division of Urology.
  • The named Chief will be well resourced to affect clinical expansion to Fairfield County and recruit additional faculty to support the growth of the division's clinical and academic missions. -
  • We believe this to be one of the top leadership positions in Pediatric Urology, offering the selected leader a chance to create a vision, implement a strategy, and cultivate a culture focused on children. The division is well supported with state-of-the-art imaging resources, including 3T magnet, Da Vinci Xi, contrast ultrasound and a video urodynamics suite.
  • Connecticut Children's pediatric urology service is home to a multi-specialty disciplinary clinic for stones, Spina bfida and Disorders of Sexual Development. Physicians and researchers are actively involved in clinical and translational research related to outcomes and treatment for urethral healing as well as hydronephrosis, solitary kidney, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, hypospadias, and conditions which affect bladder function such as neurogenic bladder, spina bifida and exstrophy.
  • The urology division is part of an international exstrophy collaboration, serves as critical support to a comprehensive fertility preservation program, offers basic science research and serves as an instrumental teaching service for residents at UCONN SOM.
  • Academic promotion occurs through the University of Connecticut and an Associate Professor rank or above is preferred. The compensation range for the Chief: $600,000 - $650,000 annually, plus benefits.
