EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Coordinates unit workflow; determines priorities; assigns and reviews work; establishes and maintains unit procedures; provides staff training and assistance; conducts or assists in conducting performance evaluations; acts as liaison to other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures; performs dental and oral surgical work as outlined in Dentist class specification; oversees ordering of supplies and equipment and ensures equipment properly maintained; performs related duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of dental surgery with particular reference to oral pathology; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; skill in dental operative techniques; supervisory ability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Two (2) years of experience as a dentist. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice dentistry in Connecticut.
