the context of the framework for professional nursing practice, the
Nurse Educator, in consultation and collaboration with nursing
leadership and the Health Care Team, facilitates training,
education and development by assessing, planning, developing,
implementation, coordination and evaluation of projects and
programs for staff, faculty, patient populations and the community.
This is accomplished to ensure role competence, compliance with
regulatory standards, and to meet organizational goals. Identifies,
implements, and evaluates various strategies to enhance evidence
based practice in the clinical setting.The Nurse Educator in
Cardiology is responsible for training, growth and development of
the Clinical Education for the Cardiology In-Patient units, which
includes, Cardiology Step-Down Level of Care. Our population
consists of medically complex cardiac patients experiencing the
need for heart failure and anti-arrhythmic management through the
latest in technological interventions, as well as acute medication
management. Our Cardiac Catheterization, Structural Heart, and
Ventricular Assist Device patients are increasing in volume and
complexity. This educator should have experience with
anti-arrhythmia interventions, MI treatment algorithms, including
post- procedural care for PCI, TAVR & Mitral Clip; Heart Failure,
and Ventricular Assist Devices.Qualifications --- Current
Connecticut nursing license. --- Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree
required.* One degree must be in Nursing. --- Demonstrated clinical
competence in areas of assignment. --- Minimum 3 years appropriate
recent experience in an acute care setting. --- AHA or ARC CPR
certification Step- down Level of Care and VAD Experience preferred
