Position Responsibilities and ExpectationsUnder the direction of the Primary Care Unit Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the coordination of all medical services. Responsible for maintaining accurate medical records in accordance with Root Center policy, applicable CARF accreditation standards, Federal and State regulations.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collection of selected data about the health status of the patient.
• Assists medical providers with patient office visits, including putting patients in rooms, conducting necessary screenings, recording vital signs including pulse rate, blood pressure, height and weight, respiratory rate, temperature, and enters information in patient's electronic medical record
• Performs blood draws and sends samples to lab for processing
• Performs select clinical tests and demonstrates proper specimen collection techniques
• Performs EKGs using proper technique and procedure
• Coordinates and facilitates the admissions process for patients transferring from other facilities, including methadone dose verification and prescription monitoring reporting
• Schedules appointments, maintains medical records, and serves as back-up to patient services representative and medical assistant
• Participate in morning huddles and communicates relevant information Minimum Qualification RequirementsCurrent active license in the State of Connecticut as a Licensed Practical Nurse, with at least one year of nursing experience and demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with drug dependent people within the scope of this rehabilitation program. Computer skills, including knowledge and experience with automated medical records systems and accreditation standards. Also, desirable, some background, association or experience with problems of addiction and/or community medicine; a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the general lifestyle, emotional and behavioral patterns often associated with narcotics addiction.COMPENSATION & BENEFITSFor all benefit eligible employees, we offer a prestigious employment package that includes competitive compensation plus a comprehensive array of benefits including:
