Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to

Services\r Address: 70 O'Brien Drive, Middletown, CT\r\rAS A DMHAS
ASSISTANT MEDICAL DIRECTOR YOU WILL:\r\r\r Be responsible for the
overall quality and safety of clinical care provided to patients
residing on six inpatient units (138 beds) in the enhanced security
service of WFH;\r Provide direct administrative and clinical
supervision to WFH psychiatrists and interdisciplinary treatment
teams in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer;\r Meet
regularly with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary treatment teams
to ensure the quality and safety of the care provided; and\r Work
with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure resource allocation and
discharge planning is
appropriate.\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rMORE ABOUT THE
AGENCY AND FACILITY:\r\r\r\rDMHAS is a health care agency whose
mission is to promote the overall health and wellness of persons
with behavioral health needs through an integrated network of
holistic, comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and
supports that foster dignity, respect, and self-sufficiency in
those we serve.\r\r\r\r\rWFH specializes in providing inpatient
services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
The hospital consists of 91 maximum security beds and 138 enhanced
security beds. Services are provided to individuals who are
admitted under the following categories: Psychiatric Security
Review Board commitment, Criminal court order for restoration of
competency to stand trial, Civil commitment (voluntary or
involuntary) and Transfer from the Department of Correction (during
period of incarceration or at end of sentence). Discharge options
are dependent on legal status and the purpose of

this class is accountable for assisting in administering agency
medical, clinical and behavioral health services programs and
operations within a hospital division.---\r EXAMPLES OF
DUTIES\r\r\r Assists in administering staff and operations of a
designated hospital, facility, regional medical area or behavioral
health services program;---\r Assists in development,
implementation and evaluation of policies, goals and objectives;\r
Assists in development of programs and activities including
development of medical service standards and criteria;---\r
Implements new procedures and procedural revisions;---\r Determines
or assists in determination of appropriate staffing levels and

Incumbents in this class must possess a license to practice
medicine and surgery in Connecticut.\r \r \r Incumbents in this
class must possess and retain certification as a specialist in
psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology OR
certification in the field of internal medicine, family medicine or
related specialty, from an appropriate specialist board.\r \r \r
Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain eligibility for
participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S.
1320a-7b(f).\r \r \r Incumbents in this class may be required to
possess and retain certification as a specialist in addictions
medicine from the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM).\r
\r \r Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and
retain certification as a specialist in an area such as geriatrics,
ABI/TBI, forensics, substance abuse, etc.\r \r \r Incumbents in
this class may be required to possess and retain a faculty
appointment at either the Yale School of Medicine or the UCONN
School of Medicine.\r \r \r Incumbents in this class may be
required to possess appropriate current licenses, certifications or
permits.\r \r \r Incumbents in this class may be required to be
