Housing the Northeast's largest robotic surgery center, committed to becoming the best in the country for patient safety and is pursuing that goal by taking innovative action and creating a culture of safety at every level within the organization.Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families.This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures.Reports to Manager, Patient Unit.Bliss 11 Step Down is a 18-bed unit that provides care to patients with a wide range of complex, highly acute medical issues. These issues include but are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, drug and alcohol withdrawal and a specialty in the care of the pulmonary hypertension population. Under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24 hours-a-day with a team of Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses.In the Medical Step Down, our goal is to develop our staff into well-rounded, highly skilled medical professionals. The unit will push you to your limits as you will be working in a fast-paced environment where your critical thinking, vast medical knowledge, clear communication, and your extensive skillset will be challenged and grown.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Basic computer skills requiredAbility to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.

PREFERRED: High School Diploma or EquivalentHospital based or physician office work experience.Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford HospitalCPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
