Job Description:
Shift: Thurs and Friday 10a-8p and Sun 8a-4p Description:
Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares
patient for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares,
operates, and cares for the equipment being used. Adheres to
established standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuing
education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties.
Adheres to established customer service programs. Performs other
duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Exercises
professional judgments in performance of procedures. Provides
patient care.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the
and adheres to the client Performance Standards, Policies, and
Behaviors.Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific
examinations, observing different and special requirements for each
protocol including proper documentation on images and required body
part questionnaires.Assumes responsibilities for designated areas
and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing
completed scans for quality, and completeness for the type of test
ordered.Assists physicians during procedures as necessary.Performs
quality assurance and calibrations as needed.Will be required to
work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in
the practice.Maintains the cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and
accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the practice
supervisor.Prints patient CD if needed.Performs routine office
tasks, such as answering phones, checking in patients, obtaining
previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed.Notifies
front desk staff upon exam completion.Shows radiologist images and
calls report to attending physician and documents communication if
necessary (STAT readings).May be assigned as instructor or
preceptor.Introduces themselves and educates each patient or family
member regarding the examination that is ordered.Should be
knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age,
physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations;
pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.Attends staff
meetings and in-services.Coverage rotation to other outpatient
offsite.Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the
offsite practices.May be required to work holidays, overtime,
and/or day, evening, and overnight shift coverage to help maintain
adequate and safe coverage for the outpatient facility.Performs all
other related duties as assigned.Position is eligible for
certification incentive.Education & Experience graduate from an
accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
Technologist must be certified by the American Registry of
Radiological Technologists (ARRT), ARMRIT, or become ARRT MR
certified within one year of the hire date.Continuing education
requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by
governing bodies. Current standards are 24 ECE credits over a
two-year period depending on the year of birth.BLS certification
through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or must be
completed within 90 days of hire.IV certification is preferred or
by completion of six months of orientation.MRI safety certification
level 2 is required yearly.
