Location: Great Barrington, MA Assignment: 13 Weeks | Night 3x12-Hour Guaranteed Hours: 36 Weekly Pay Package : Weekly Tax Free Stipend to be paid $0.00 Weekly Straight Pay (Taxable) $2,808.00 Weekly Overtime Pay (Taxable) $0.00 Weekly Gross $2,808.00 Job D escription : The Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery provides comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period. This role involves monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, administering medications and treatments, assisting with deliveries, and collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality obstetric care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and uterine activity Administer medications, IV fluids, and anesthesia-related medications as prescribed Provide care during vaginal and cesarean deliveries Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and obstetric procedures Patient & Family Support Provide education, emotional support, and guidance to patients and families Promote comfort measures and pain management techniques Support bonding, breastfeeding initiation, and newborn safety Postpartum & Recovery Care Monitor mothers during recovery for complications Perform postpartum assessments and interventions Coordinate care with postpartum and newborn care teams Communication & Collaboration Communicate effectively with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric teams, and other staff Participate in shift reports, care planning, and interdisciplinary rounds Document care accurately in electronic medical records Safety, Quality & Compliance Adhere to hospital policies, state nursing regulations, and evidence-based obstetric practices Maintain infection control and patient safety standards Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and participate in emergency drills Job Requirements Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (ADN or BSN) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing CPR/BLS certification required NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required or obtained within a specified timeframe ACLS preferred Experience Previous Labor & Delivery or obstetric nursing experience preferred New graduates may be considered with completion of an L&D residency or training program Skills & Competencies Strong maternal-fetal assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to interpret fetal monitoring strips Excellent communication, empathy, and patient education skills Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as required Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules Preferred Qualifications (Optional) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Specialty certifications (e.g., Inpatient Obstetric Nursing – RNC-OB) Experience with high-risk obstetrics Apply now to start your next travel adventure!
