Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. The role focuses on providing clear and accurate interpretation to support effective communication between students, educators, and healthcare providers through virtual platforms. Responsibilities include: Facilitating real-time sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions involving students and school staff Ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate translation of medical and educational information Collaborating with healthcare professionals and educators to promote seamless communication Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards Keeping detailed records of interpretation sessions as required Qualifications and experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong telehealth interpreting experience Familiarity with educational and healthcare terminology used in school environments Ability to work independently under a 1099 contract arrangement Excellent communication skills and adaptability to virtual platforms Prior experience interpreting for children and adolescents preferred Certification or accreditation in sign language interpreting is highly desirable Location: Position supports telehealth services based in Ridgewood, NY Contract Details: This is a 1099 contract position offering the flexibility to manage schedules and assignments remotely Engagement in this role will provide valuable experience in bridging communication gaps through telehealth technology within a school environment.
