Job Description This southwest Georgia health system is seeking board certified/board eligible Thoracic Surgeon who wishes to start a new position in 2025. Applicable candidates should have experience with: Large role in surgical oncology CABG, TAVR, Chest Tumor Surgery, Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Valve Repair, and Lung Resection. Interest in Lung Cases Call 1:3 Board Certified/Board Eligible Level 2 Trauma Center Historical case log. Fiscal Year 2021 (August 2020 – July 2021) 305 cases: 18 TAVRs, 143 CABGs, and 9 Mitral Valve repair-replace just to name a few. With COVID it affected many of our services lines and surgical procedures. Fiscal Year 2022 (August 2021 – July 2022) – 315 cases CABG- 151 cases Mediastinoscopy- 8 Pacemaker insertion and change out- 46 Pericardial window-5 Mitral valve repair- 3, replace-5 Tricuspid valve repair- 2 Aortic valve replace-8, root- 2 Thoracoscopy- 4, with biopsy- 3 Thoracotomy-11, with decortication- 12 Thymectomy- 4 TAVR- 22 (includes salvage and non-salvage) VATS lobectomy- 9 CT Surgery Compensation: CT Surgery 1 FTE Base $650,000 Sign-On $50,000 Relocation (Reimb/IRS guidelines for direct relo exp up to) Up to $15,000 RVU Threshold 8,667 Comp per Excess RVU $75.00 CME $ $7,000 PTO/CME days 20 Holidays 7 Location Information Short drive to Atlanta and the Florida beaches Cost of living 16% lower than national average Temperate weather year-round perfect for outdoor activities- hiking, boating, golfing, etc. Known as “Pecan Capital of the World” Regional Airport with 35-minute flight to Atlanta The health System is a not-for-profit integrated healthcare delivery system which serves more than 500,000 residents in Southwest Georgia.
