Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Navy blue scrubs required Description: The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Common conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, and complex surgical complications. Nurses must be competent in caring for both medical and surgical populations. Advanced knowledge in hemodynamics, including the use of pressors, antihypertensive drips, and sedative drips, is essential. Experience with thrombo-embolytics and devices such as a line, CVP, EVD, and ortho traction is important. Protocol adherence to infection prevention measures is required. Familiarity with high-flow nasal cannula, BiPap/Cpap, and oxygen dependency is essential. Candidates with large-scale adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to excel in this role. The average patient load is three high-acuity patients.
