OVERVIEW The Job Developer in the Employment Program will implement State and Federally funded employment programs, as well as perform employment-related activities, to help refugee clients find jobs and work towards the goal of self-sufficiency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Understand program contracts in detail and ensure that requirements are met • Identify employers that have potential job opportunities, develop relationships with them, and ultimately create new employment pathways that are suitable for clients • Work with the employers to further develop job opportunities for clients, and negotiate worksite training agreements or special accommodations as necessary • Maintain a database of current and potential business partners • Provide consistent communication with employers to ensure coordination of services and development of job placement opportunities • Assess experience, skills, and limitations of clients • Teach individuals or small groups of clients’ about basic workplace topics, job preparation, interview skills, and job safety requirements to enable them to be successful in the American workplace • Assist clients in filling out employment applications • Set up interviews with potential employers, prepare clients for interviews, and sometimes accompany them to the interviews, or arrange transportation • Monitor and track clients’ situation following placement, and serve as an ongoing contact and support for them, as needed, particularly if there are any complications with the employer or there is an opportunity for career advancement • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor All of the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions. REQUIREMENTS Dedication to human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced people High School Diploma or GED at a minimum Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, and database programs Excellent time-management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments and meet goals and deadlines in fast-paced environment Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently with a high-level of self-motivation (with a proactive approach to assignments, to address needs when noticed or received) Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish work assignments Attention to detail and quality of work outputs Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with providers, vendors, and clients of diverse backgrounds Positive attitude, can-do approach, and pleasant, diplomatic manner Valid driver's license, insurance, clean driving record PHYSICAL DEMANDS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
