LinkedIn builds and manages the data lake and the compute platform
that trains ML models, supports data exploration, runs scheduled
data processing, and serves insights and member experiences. We
manage storage systems of Exabyte capacity, process petabytes of
data daily, and span 1000s of nodes. We extensively collaborate
with open source and influence open-source communities. We have a
team of contributors, committers, and committee members in Apache,
CNCF, Linux Foundation, and other open-source projects. We are
looking for talented data infrastructure engineers to build the
next generation big data platform in the cloud. Responsibilities-
Design and implement large-scale distributed systems- Build
frameworks that validate functionality and performance of large
scale offline systems- Optimize performance of these systems by
profiling and identifying bottlenecks- Build systems that are
secure and compliant- Improve observability and understandability
of the various systems- Work with different teams within the Big
Data Platform group to incorporate their work and vice versa- Work
closely with the open-source community to participate and influence
cutting edge open-source projects (e. . Apache Iceberg, Apache
Gobblin, Apache Spark)- Mentor other engineers in the group and
help to build a fast-growing team- Due to business needs, this
position will require working an 8:00AM to 5:00PM PT scheduleBasic
qualifications- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related
technical discipline, or related practical experience. - 2+ years
experience in software design, development, and algorithm related
solutions. - 2+ years experience programming experience in Java,
Scala, C++ or other relevant coding languages- Hands on experience
developing distributed systemsPreferred qualifications- BS and 5+
years of relevant work experience, MS and 4+ years of relevant work
experience, or PhD and 2+ years of relevant work experience-
Experience with Hadoop (or similar) Ecosystem (MapReduce, Yarn,
HDFS, Hive, Spark, Presto)- Experience with industry, open-source
projects and/or academic research in data management, relational
databases, and/or large-data, parallel and distributed systems-
Experience with open-source project management and governance-
Experience with cloud computing (e. . , Azure) is a plus. LinkedIn

for this role is [$114,000]. Actual compensation packages are based
on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but
not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience,
certifications and specific office location. This may differ in
