Hartford is seeking a highly motivated Extreme Programming (XP)
Agile Coach. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership
skills, proficiency in coaching cross-functional teams of
developers, analysts, and quality engineers on technical agility,
extreme programming, and DevOps, and is experienced in delivering
outcomes without authority. Strong candidates will leverage their
hands-on experience with an influencer skillset to help bring teams
to the next level of agility, by assessing and improving team
behaviors, development practices, system architecture, and
integration/deployment pipelines. Responsibilities of the position
include: --- Provide technical leadership, enforcing the vision of
the application architecture and integrity of the application
environment in alliance with architects and other tech leads ---
Facilitate the regular use of pair-programming; oversees code
reviews and sets standards for development practices --- Coach
improvements in testing practices, including unit, integration,
E2E, and test-first development; facilitates the understanding of
the testing pyramid and guides teams on shifting a flipped testing
pyramid --- Coach the development and usage of CI/CD pipelines -
sometimes through hands-on pair or mob programming sessions,
including the design and architecting of systems to best utilize
DevOps practices and tools for frequent delivery of valuable
software to end-users --- Understand and implement the overall
technical vision for projects, programs and systems, keeping in
mind cross-functional impacts, integration across the organization
and architecture rationalization. --- Mentor, coach and train team
members and peers, both internal and vendor partners, to document
and follow agile development guidelines and best practices ---
Coach development teams, BA's, App managers, QA test leads and
architects on agile values and principles within the Scrum, Kanban,
and SAFe frameworks --- Understand and facilitate implementation of
the overall technical vision for projects, programs, or systems,
keeping in mind cross-functional impacts, integration across the
organization and architecture rationalization. Qualifications ---
5+ years of hands-on experience using and coaching Extreme
Programming practices, such as Test First, Continuous Integration,
Incremental Design, Pair Programming, refactoring, and applying the
strangler pattern with legacy monolithic applications --- 5+ years
of experience developing web based Java/J2EE or .Net applications.
--- Experience developing GOSU on Guidewire Claims Center and/or
Policy Center in a continuous integration/continuous delivery
environment preferred --- Advanced knowledge of the software
development lifecycle and of several software development
methodologies. Experience with coaching Scrum, Extreme Programming
(XP), Lean Software Development and other agile methodologies ---
Senior-level skills in systems architecture, design, development,
and programming in object-oriented and relational databases and
client server platforms --- Bachelor's degree in computer Science
or related field, Master's degree preferred CompensationThe listed
annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar
positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and
may be above or below the listed range based on factors including
but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of
competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one
