The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As a member of this team, you will use your practical knowledge and experience with data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques to tackle important technical problems facing the Insurance industry.Emerging Technology Senior Architects are hands on and pragmatic and will work with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Travelers partners to discover, invent, and build solutions at scale. From creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures, Emerging Technology Architects work on challenges in machine perception, data mining, machine learning, and natural language understanding.The Work Arrangement for this position is based on Location.What Will You Do?Hands on, active development of experimental environments to test hypotheses.Perform and manage a variety of advanced statistical analyses including data mining and actuarial research techniques.Understand business needs and apply AI/ Machine Learning to build cutting-edge models to solve for real-world problems while creating an exceptional customer and user experience.Address pain points of the business and provide additional insights across domains like Regression, Classification, Machine Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, and/or statistical modeling.Proactively stay abreast of industry, developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issues.Manage one or more advanced research projects simultaneously.Present experimental results, analysis, and recommendations to target audience.Partner with Data Scientists and Engineers to lead in-depth experiments in applying, validating, and implementing predictive models.Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent with 5+ years of technology Architecture experienceProvided mentorship to architectsOrganizational and transformational experience in an agile operating modelEstablishes strategic technology direction and architecture vision for an organizationStrong proven Software Engineering experienceDeveloped technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goalsProven track record of influencing senior leadershipInsurance technology experienceStrong grasp of value creation and business capability modelsInnovation and Continuous ImprovementMust be passionate about technology transformationsHas hands on experience in the last 3 yearsExecuted technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API StrategyCurrent deep experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOpsCloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on CloudGood understanding of securityExperienced with large scale technology platformsExposure and understanding of advanced analytics techniques using ML and AIHands on experience with data technologies on cloudWhat is a Must Have?Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.Six years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a line of business or enterprise areaWhat Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members - including spouses, domestic partners, and children - are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
