What you’ll do Gain exposure to researching generative AI and code-assistant tools to for potential equity research workflows within the L/S Equities team in our New York office Support prototyping and iterating on AI-driven tools that surface investment insights and automate manual tasks Assist with implementing AI models and integrating coding-focused tools into developer workflows Evaluate model outputs, run basic experiments, and measure solution impact Collaborate with investment professionals and internal data teams to understand data needs, access sources, and translate requirements into technical tasks Help identify repetitive processes and scope opportunities for automation within research and analyst workflows Document prototypes, maintain reproducible code, and present findings to the team Summer Internship Program at Point72 In addition to the learning and development you'll receive in your day-to-day role with your team, as a part of our summer internship program you will: Work alongside your fellow interns and be mentored by experienced professionals Meet your peers through designated intern programming, volunteer opportunities, and social events Attend sessions with senior leaders discussing their expertise and career paths Get hands-on access to best-in-class tools and resources Gain exposure to groups and functions with unique responsibilities and perspectives on our industry Develop technical, writing, and presentation skills What's Required Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field Hands-on programming experience in Python and familiarity with SQL or equivalent data query languages Practical experience implementing or integrating AI models or AI APIs into applications Demonstrated experience using coding-focused developer tools and AI code assistants, explicitly including Cursor and Codex Ability to identify manual or repetitive workflows and propose concrete automation opportunities Experience collaborating with data teams or data engineers to access, validate, and instrument datasets Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity about AI tools, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced team environment Commitment to the highest ethical standards About Point72 Point72 is a leading global alternative investment firm led by Steven A. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
