Job Description Job Description Salary: $18-$19 SUMMARY The Southern Queens Parks Association is seeking acustomer service, detail-orientedperson to join the team as the daytimemaintenance workerat the Roy Wilkins Recreation Center. This position is responsible for overseeing the upkeep of specific spaces within the Roy Wilkin Recreation Center. This person will work with SQPA's operations leadership to develop and improve maintenance routines and plans. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This position requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on both routine and occasional specialized cleaning tasks. Primary duties include the following: The physical ability to perform maintenance, cleaning, and general upkeep of SQPA s work rooms, classrooms, gym, activity rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, hallways and administrative offices. Responsible for events set-ups and breakdowns. Serve as the communication point for the maintenance team (mostly via email) Maintain SQPAs tools and equipment to ensure that they remain in working condition. Monitor and remove all garbage from SQPA areas during the work shift. Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed. Oversee the ordering and stocking of operating supplies Perform regular maintenance inspections and record findings Follow established safety protocols and procedures while performing all tasks. Other Expectations Include: Occasional trips to offsite locations and vendors. Ability to use equipment, including commercial vacuums, floor and carpet cleaners Occasional residential painting projects Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices and commercial cleaning standards. Minimum of one year experience preferred. Checks are required. Compensation and Benefits: Full-time in-person role that will be paid $17-$19 per hour, depending on experience (Opportunity for overtime available) 40 hours each week, minus a daily hourly break (8-hour shifts) Medical, Vision and Dental available Paid holidays A two-week vacation accrual Forecasted Hours:Mon - Friday 8am-4pm (10am-6pm once per month, likely Wednesday) Must be able to work occasional weekends WHO WE ARE Established in 1976, Southern Queens Park Associations mission is to coordinate and provide comprehensive programs for children, youth, adults, families, and seniors residing in Southern Queens.SQPA finds innovative ways to combine its stewardship of the 54-acre Southern Queens-Roy Wilkins Park with its mission to enhance the quality of life of residents in Southern Queens.
