Job Description:

Interstate Waste Services, a leader in the waste management industry across the U.S. Northeast region, is looking for a dedicated Overnight Route Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective collection, transfer, and disposal of non-hazardous waste by supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in waste collection routes during overnight shifts. Supervise the activities of sanitation workers on assigned overnight routes to ensure the timely and compliant collection and transportation of waste. Monitor route progress and make real-time adjustments as needed to handle unexpected situations and optimize route efficiency. Conduct pre-shift and post-shift meetings with team members to communicate daily objectives, safety practices, and relevant performance metrics. Manage and maintain employee records, including work hours, route details, and compliance with safety standards. Ensure all equipment, including vehicles, are maintained according to company standards and operational safety compliance. Liaise with customer service and dispatch teams to address and resolve customer issues promptly and efficiently. Enforce adherence to company policies and legal regulations, maintaining high standards of work quality and organizational performance. Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and make decision under pressure Proficiency with route management software In-depth understanding of the waste management industry’s safety standards Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification in Logistics Management or Waste Management preferred Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is beneficial
