Under the direction of Vice President, Enterprise Talent Services, the Director of Employee Relations will be responsible for the day to day oversight, guidance and direction of the Employee Relations function. This includes responsibility for employee relations issues, including attendance and performance concerns as well conduct matters. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for the company’s policies and procedures and ensuring they are applicable and relevant to all regulations, laws and practices.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and manage the Employee Relations function

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Employee Relations team as it relates to performance improvement, investigations and policies

• Identify gaps and create proactive tools and solutions that are efficient and practical to assist managers and employees

• Investigate and resolve potential conduct violations, employee grievances, employee performance, attendance, leave and accommodation matters

• Coach and counsel managers with respect to policy interpretation, performance improvement, and employee warnings

• Assist managers with the delivery of performance conversations and warnings notices

• Maintain systems and operations in accordance with corporate standards and controls and in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Employee Relations and Policies

• College degree or work experience that demonstrates skills

• Broad knowledge and solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures

• Requires a depth of working knowledge and understanding of Human Resources legislation/employment law, principles, policies, and procedures

• Strong influencing skills and ability to exercise good judgment and provide strategic advice

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced, demanding environment and manage a high volume of work

• Comfortable interacting with all levels including senior level executives within the organization

• Ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with core functions such as Legal, Finance, Compliance, etc.

• Must be a self-starter – someone who can think outside the box and not be afraid to challenge the norm and implement change

• Comfortable making difficult decisions and articulating the rationale behind the decision

• Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work remotely and work in virtual teams

Preferred:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree

• Experience managing a team of HR professionals and providing guidance and direction
