Job Description:

Specific responsibilities of the position include the ability to: Articulate and model the schools mission to all families, students, staff and community. Nurture the continued growth and development of staff, faculty, and families as a unified community. Work in partnership with the Board of Trustees to further develop the schools potential through successful development and implementation of the strategic plan. Prepare budgets, manage ongoing operations, and develop strategies for long-term financial health of the school. Be visible and accessible to the PVMS community on a daily basis by establishing strong, active relationships with students and parents. Serve as the spokesperson for the school to various constituencies: faculty, staff, parents, students, donors, media, and the community at large. Manage and promote enrollment Leadership qualities and skills of the successful candidate will reflect: A warm, vibrant leader Deep dedication to the practice of the Montessori educational philosophy. Enthusiasm and readiness to embrace and promote the schools mission, identity, spirit and character. Experience and credentials as a successful administrator and/or educator An awareness of the operations of a small independent school Exceptional people skills; good interpersonal ability and able to build and maintain relationships and engender trust Excellent written and verbal communication skills Skills in institutional fundraising, budget and project planning and management The ability to ensure a sense of all-school community through regular, clear and consistent communication Innovative problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Integrity beyond reproach Punctuality and responsibility Collaborative and inclusive work style A strong work ethic Certification, or ability to become certified, as a Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Director 1. Certification, or ability to become certified as a Montessori Educator or Administrator The ability to maintain a high level of order and organization in a busy environment A strong work ethic Proficiency in public speaking and representing an organization to varied audiences Compensation includes a competitive salary, long and short term disability, partial health insurance coverage, paid holidays and vacation.
