POSITION SUMMARY The Supervisor in the Intensive Family Preservation program provides clinical and administrative oversight to IFP Clinicians and Senior Counselors. The Supervisor provides clinical supervision to IFP staff to assure that families in the IFP program are receiving appropriate and intensive in-home services to reduce risk to their children, accomplish their goals, and further the goals of DCF. The Supervisor works collaboratively with the Department of Children and Families to manage the program slots and comply with all DCF program standards. The Supervisor works with Associate Director to support staff development and ensure adherence to agency and other regulatory policies and protocols. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling plus at least 2 years of clinical experience is required. Licensure Requirements for Clinical Positions Credential(s) Required: Connecticut LCSW, LPC, LMFT or Psychologist license required. Monitors Clinician and Senior Counselor caseloads and productivity to ensure compliance with program goals, contract expectations, and agency policy. Manages communication and coordination with DCF area offices, including managing referrals, ensuring close case coordination with DCF and any other tasks related to meeting expectations of the IFP contract. Monitors program related data to ensure timely entry and reporting to specified sources. Assists IFP staff in conducting required meetings with DCF to update on family progress and discuss case planning. Provides on call consultation to IFP staff and assists with crisis intervention as needed. Actively promotes team collaboration and serves as role model and mentor. Conducts effective performance evaluations, sets goals and objectives, and monitors performance of Clinicians and Senior Counselors by working collaboratively with staff and Associate Director to help staff build competencies and ensure staff compliance with agency and contractual performance expectations. Addresses performance concerns, participates as appropriate in disciplinary actions with staff. Assists with and coordinates training for staff. Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture. Demonstrates leadership by reinforcing positive behavior and promoting recognition through the use of effective employee evaluations, employee appreciation, effective hiring practices, and accountability.
