Organizing and administering individualized, professional
patient care to patients within the Operating Room. Providing
nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies,
procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA
standards. Participating in patient teaching; incorporating the
needs and behavior of the patient's specific age/cultural groups in
planning and providing care. Participating in quality improvement

Periop 101 Course Description:
The Perioperative 101 Course is a 6-8 month blended learning
program for the novice nurse entering the Perioperative
environment. It combines the AORN Core Curriculum evidence-based
module study course with classroom didactics, OR clinical skills,
and simulation labs. It incorporates OR observation and hands-on
participation in all modalities of perioperative nursing skills.
