The Sr. Medical Staff Coordinator reports to and assists the Sr.
Manager of Medical Staff Office in the day-to-day operations of the
Medical Staff Office. Serves as immediate liaison for offsite
CCMC-based locations and practitioners (including but not limited
to shared/ delegated credentialing activities). Performs
credentialing and privileging functions related to the appointment/
reappointment of practitioners to the Medical Staff in accordance
with Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) Medical Staff
Bylaws and standards outlined by The Joint Commission (TJC), Center
for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and Connecticut Department of
Public Health (DPH).
Ensures that all aspects of the credentialing process are
complete prior to review by the assigned governing committees.
Ensures that the file is complete, including those prepared by the
Medical Staff Coordinators, before to submitting to the Sr. Manager
of the Medical Staff Office for final review and approval
processing by the Board of Directors.
Initiates documents via the Echo credentialing software
(Internet-based credentialing system).
Runs initial application status reports, reappointment reports,
and practitioner profiles
Ensures credentialing process meets all requirements of
TJC/CMS/DPH/NCQA, as well as State and Federal statutes. Meets with
examiners from the DPH, TJC, Managed Care Organization (delegated
credentialing) and malpractice insurer for review of credentialing
files. Maintains "continuous readiness" of all credentials
Work with the Sr. Manager of the Medical Staff Office in
collecting data to be reviewed at the time of reappointment, as
well as assist with process data for Focus Professional Performance
Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation
In coordination with the Sr. Manager of Medical Staff this role
shall serve as a resource to Medical Staff Coordinators and other
Medical Staff Office personnel related to review of staff work
output via database reports and tracking of processing trends based
on file or system audits. Work on short term projects and other
duties as required.
Serve as back-up and support for the Sr. Manager of the Medical
Staff Office, including preparation for and attendance at Medical
Staff Executive Committee and other meetings as needed. Represent
Connecticut Children's offsite locations for medical staff
Provide administrative support to the Medical Staff committee
meetings as assigned, such as preparation of materials for
meetings, recording of minutes, and follow-up of recommendations.
Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals, as well as

consistent with the CCMC standards
Associates degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years experience in hospital medical staff
