Job DescriptionABOUT INTENSIVE COMMUNITY PROGRAM (ICP)The Village's Intensive Community Program (ICP) provides integrated multi-level treatment for adolescents with complex psychiatric and behavioral needs who meet the criteria for a residential level of care. With the goal of supporting youths' successful functioning in the community, ICP provides a continuum of care that effectively builds a bridge between congregate care facilities and family settings or independent living.ABOUT THE VILLAGEThe Village was one of the first agencies in the country to provide homes for neglected children. If you'd like to grow your career in a diverse and supportive environment rich with learning opportunities, join us!JOB SUMMARYThe ICP Clinician provides clinical services to adolescents and their families with complex psychiatric presentations in a community setting. Responsible for providing services in a trauma-informed and relational manner with an emphasis of helping the adolescents live successfully in, the community. Excellent collaboration with community providers and a strong family-centered approach required. Clinician will maintain a small caseload and will provide services (individual and family therapy, crisis management, case management and parent education) to the adolescents and families in the home and community as well. Purposes of services are to stabilize the adolescent in the home and transition to outpatient services, improve family functioning and communication, reduce aggressive and self-injurious behaviors, improve school attendance and connect adolescents to informal community supports. Treatment will be provide via telehealth during COVID.RESPONSIBILITIESProvides direct services to children and their families which may include:Client Clinical OversightIntakeAssessment and diagnosingProviding therapy- individual, family and group therapyDischarge planningOutreach to agency's internal programs and other collateral agencies, including DCF, school systems to ensure consistent care coordination.AdministrativeEnsure adherence to organizational and program policies and procedures.Provide treatment in conjunction with multidisciplinary teamComplete all documentation in a timely mannerAttend and facilitate clients' treatment meetingsUse data to inform client treatment intervention/directionClinical LeadershipContribute to program and agency's functioning by proving guidance and direction to program staffAssist on task force and agency's committees or initiativesUse supervision and trainings to ensure professional growth and needed skills in evidence based models of treatmentsContribute to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees.Other duties as assigned.Rotating on-call and flexibility in schedule required.Experience and SkillsClinical degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed-eligible counseling degreeValid Driver's License required and a clean driving record.Cultural competency to serve a diverse populationStrong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy.Experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations.Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources.Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to function autonomously in day to day responsibilities; yet, seek consultation appropriately when needed. Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills.Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, the ability to function safely in a therapeutic situation, including provision of services in client homes or host settings.
