Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching
hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that
provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made
possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the
Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation
(CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training
centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced
care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require,
they turn to us.
ICU is a 17 bed adult in-patient unit caring for critically ill
Neurological patients. Our patients have diagnosis of stroke, head
or spinal cord trauma and brain hemorrhage. These patients require
a staff specialized in intra-cranial and hemo-dynamic monitoring
along with the use of vaso-active medications. In this rewarding
and exciting specialty, our team is highly motivated and has
advanced critical thinking skills.
In Critical Care,
our Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled and trained; helping
to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest quality care in
the most compassionate way. The units heavily rely on a team-based
mentality in which all healthcare team members work congruently to
achieve the best outcomes based on the Hartford Healthcare values
of Safety, Excellence, Integrity and Caring.
